This years Sculpture in Context exhibition – 8th September – 21st October – celebrates 10 years at the National Botanics Gardens in Dublin. It showcases the work of established and new artists.
The gardens are not just a botanical haven and a quiet oasis on the outskirts of a modern European city, they also provide a challenging venue which gives the artists a rear opportunity to realise large scale work.
It gives the public the opportunity to ramble and explore, sometimes finding sculptures in the most unusual places.
Over 120 sculptures will be displayed throughout the gardens, the glasshouses and the gallery in the visitors’ centre.
My entry: “Cultural Dissipation with Receptacles” ( see photos in gallery) are displayed in the Curvilinear Glasshouse.
Botanic Gardens’ Opening times:
Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm
Saturday + Sunday 10am – 6pm
